Piobaireachd Tunes for 2007

 


Bob Worrall of Burlington, ON will be in Antigonish to conduct a two-day
Medal Tunes Piobaireachd Workshop workshop on Saturday and Sunday, October 21st and 22nd.

 
Classes will run from 9:00 to 12:00 and 1:30 to 4:30 on Saturday, and 9:30 to 12:00 and 1:00 to 3:00 on Sunday and will be conducted in the Celtic Languages Classroom, second floor of Immaculata Hall, next door to St. Ninian's Cathedral. The fees will remain the same as in past years - $40.00 for one day and $60.00 for the two days. We can mix and match the Silver and
Gold Medal Tunes as needed so that anyone attending only one day can ask in advance for the tune(s) they want covered on their day.

 
If you are interested in attending, please send to me at the address below your name, address, phone number and e-mail address along with you cheque made payable to the Piobaireachd Society of Antigonish for the day(s) you plan to attend and please include the names of the tune(s) you might like to see covered on your day if you are attending only one day and we'll try to
schedule things to suit your requirements if possible.

PS refers to the Piobaireachd Society Collection; K refers to the Kilberry Book of Ceol Mor.

Competitors are not restricted to the settings or styles in the books mentioned above, and any other setting or style may be played, provided that the judges may take into consideration the authenticity and merits of such setting or style.

Competitors are advised to give advance notice to the judges should they intend to play alternatives to those contained in the Kilberry Book or in staff notation in the Piobaireachd Society�s Collection.
Altogether different tunes known by the same or similar names will not be accepted as alternatives.
