In true Highland spirit, sometimes not only the Champion displays true grit in competition. The Highlander Award recognizes an athlete who displays the heart of a champion. This award is selected by fellow athletes at the conclusion of the CSAF Championship. An athlete may be selected for achieving several personal bests, going above and beyond expectations or showing enthusiasm and determination.

Following the World Championship model, this award is given to an athlete who achieves the best total aggregate distance in the 16lb and 22lb hammer throws. The best distance in each event is added and the athlete with the best total distance is crowned champion.
Again following the World Championship model, this award is given to an athlete who achieves the best total aggregate distance in the 28lb and 56lb Weight for Distance competitions. The best distance in each event is added and the athlete with the best total distance is crowned champion.
Following the World’s Strongest Man model, this award recognizes the total aggregate distances thrown by a athlete in the open and Braemar stones events. The athlete with the furthest total distances in both events is crowned King of the Stones.
