Antigonish Highland Society Pipe Band

The 9th Annual

Great Duckie Race

The Ninth Annual GREAT DUCKIE RACE which will be held on the Brierly Brook on May 19th. This annual fund-raiser has become one of the major cultural events of Spring in the town of Antigonish, with hundreds of people coming along to see the band and other talented musicians, singers, and dancers perform in a three-hour free outdoor concert at Chisholm Park. Food concessions, lots of seating near the gazebo stage, and activities for all ages lead up to the exciting finish of the Great Duckie Race which takes place about 4 PM.

Of course everyone wants to be there in person to cheer for their little ducks as they race towards the finish line! But even if you can not be there in person, you can still participate in this fun-filled community event by entering ducks in the race which may win for you one of the thirteen great prizes being offered. The more ducks you enter, the more exciting the race! And the greater your chances of winning a prize! All you need to do is fill out and return the attached mail order form with your cheque or money order to purchase a numbered ticket for each duck you wish to have entered in the race. We’ll do the rest.

The little yellow, pink, and blue plastic ducks are numbered. The first one to make it across the finish line will win a Baby Barn Kit, valued at $825.00, Second prize  is $200.00, third prize is a York Screen Door valued at $154.00, and there are eight additional prizes of $50.00 each. In addition, there is an Early Bird Draw for two Golf Green Fees for the Antigonish Golf Club valued at $116.00 (Draw date: April 19th). The total value of the prizes is $1,695.00!

We hope that you will show your support for the Antigonish Highland Society Pipe Band by participating in this exciting annual fund-raising event. Just complete the order form and return it to us. Tell us how many ducks you wish to have entered in the race, and enclose $5.00 for each one.

Thank you for your continuing support. The pipe band could not long survive without it.
